Blisters for Misters: Walking in women's shoes to prevent sexual violence

On September 27, 2012, Penn State Altoona will commemorate RAINN day with a "Blisters for Misters" event set for 12:10 p.m. around the college's reflecting pond. The event will consist of male faculty and staff members walking a lap around the pond wearing women's shoes.

RAINN Day is the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network's (RAINN's) annual campaign to raise awareness and educate students against sexual violence on college campuses. RAINN DAY is a grassroots program designed to empower college students to raise awareness of sexual violence and recovery resources on their campus.

Donations will be accepted at the event. All proceeds will benefit local women's shelters. The event is sponsored by Penn State Altoona's Commission for Women.
