Professor provides keynote address at Munich conference

Brian Black, professor of history and environmental studies and head of the Division of Arts and Humanities, will provide the keynote address for the conference "Energy Resources: Europe and its Former Colonies" to be held at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, October 3-4. The conference is sponsored by the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society that is housed at the museum. Black's address, titled "Global Crude: Organizing International Petroleum Development, 1900-1930," derives from his newest book Crude Reality: Petroleum in World History.
