Corinne Hosfeld Smith talks Thoreau and the "wild west" of Minnesota on October 16

Penn State Altoona will present a talk by Corinne Hosfeld Smith on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 12:15 p.m. in the Thoreau Cabin, located on Beckers Lane at the edge of the Seminar Forest, across the street from the college's Juniata Gap Road entrance.

Hosfield Smith is the author of Westward I Go Free: Tracing Thoreau's Last Journey. She will talk about Thoreau's trip to the "wild west" of Minnesota, the last journey he took before his death in 1862.

Lunch will be provided to those in attendance.
