Penn State Altoona's Office of Institutional Equity, Diversity, and International Student Services will present "Who is Vincent Chin?" on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Pond View Lounge of the Slep Student Center.

Vincent Chin was beaten to death in June of 1982 at a local bar where he was celebrating his bachelor party. He was beaten by two men who blamed Vincent Chin for the Detroit’s auto industry layoffs because of the increasing market of Japanese automakers. Come learn about how the case surrounding a Chinese American man began the Asian American movement in the United States.

The event is free and open to the public.
