Dear Campus Community,

Nominations from faculty, staff and students are now being accepted for The Altoona College Outstanding Lecturer Award. This award recognizes excellent teaching by members of our adjunct faculty.

Two recipients will be announced and each will receive a plaque and a $200 award at the spring semester Academic Awards ceremony.

The criteria for nominees are:

1. Minimum of three years service on FT-2 (part-time) contract.

2. Minimum of six Student Rating of Teaching Effectiveness (SRTE) forms on file.

3. Minimum of three letters of support from students and colleagues regarding superior teaching effectiveness.

4. If available, other forms of documentation that can be used in support of the nomination, e.g., classroom/teaching innovations, presentations, special recognitions.

Send your nominations and a brief statement about the nominee’s teaching effectiveness to Michele Kennedy, Room W110 Smith Building, by February 15, 2013. Selection of the candidates will be made by the Division Heads who will forward criteria information about the candidates to the Faculty Affairs Committee for review and recommendation to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The Associate Dean will make the final selections. Awardees will be announced in March.

I urge all members of the College community to recognize and honor our adjunct faculty by participation in this nomination process.
