Barbara Hong, associate professor of special education, has been awarded a Research Collaboration Fellowship for this summer.

Working with collaborator James Herbert from University Park's Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education, Hong will conduct research on "Feasibility Assessment on the Impact of First-Year Seminars on Persistence of College Students with Disabilities at Penn State University."

The fellowship program was created with the objective to encourage and build research collaborations among faculty members across Penn State and to attract external funds. The collaborations take place between faculty members from the major research institutes located in University Park and the College of Medicine and faculty members from other campuses. The Fellowship provides up to $10,000 seed money to cover research and additional expenses.
