As part of Women's History Month, professional photographer and self-published author Meredith Kaminek will share her story, art and vision. The presentation will take place on Thursday, March 21, at 7:00 p.m. in room 101 of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.
From her studio in Central Pennsylvania to a creek in the woods, Kaminek has cultivated her career as a professional portrait photographer since 1992. Connecting with people to photograph more than what they look like, but who they are, has always been the true passion parallel to her artistic eye.
Feeling a similar connection with nature, Kaminek has branched out to share her perspective of how everyday life and our natural surroundings are genuine gifts, so long as you take the time to look at them that way.
Kaminek's first self-published hard cover book, ...as I found it, is a collection of her photographs of nature untouched, coupled with simple thoughts and inspirations that she has written.
Kaminek will also share insights on her career as a self-starter, offering words of encouragement and empowerment to those who have considered turning their passions into a career.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
