Collection by Davis is finalist for Book of the Year Award

Todd Davis’s edited collection, Fast Break to Line Break: Poets on the Art of Basketball published by Michigan State University Press, was announced this week as a finalist for the 2012 ForeWord Book of the Year Award. ForeWord’s Book of the Year Awards program was created to highlight the year’s most distinguished books from independent publishers. Award winners are chosen by librarians and booksellers who are on the front lines, working everyday with patrons and customers. Davis's book is one of eight finalists in the sports category. Davis, professor of English, also has a new pedagogical essay on teaching poetry writing, "Framing the House," that appears in the newly released book, Mapping the Line: Poets on Teaching.
