Ag Awareness Day set for Apr. 18

Penn State Altoona's Agriculture Club will host their annual Ag Awareness Day on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in and around the Slep Student Center.

The Agriculture Club organizes this event each year to show people the vastness of agriculture. Speakers and information will be provided in such areas as local foods, bee keeping, beef production, food preservation, vegetable growing, and more. Representatives from Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences will be available to answer questions regarding the twenty plus majors offered through this college. Fun amusement for the day includes a petting zoo and the opportunity to ride a mechanical pig. Froggy 98 will be present to provide musical entertainment. Also a limited amount of free Penn State Creamery ice cream will be available.
