Disability Awareness Information Fair set for Oct. 28

In commemoration of Disability Awareness Week, Penn State Altoona will host a Disability Awareness Information Fair on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 4 - 7 p.m. in the Pond View Lounge of the Slep Student Center. The event is sponsored by Students Advocating for Disability Awareness (SADA), a new student organization dedicated to creating an inclusive campus and community.

The fair will feature informational poster displays highlighting a variety of disability-related topics including stigma, sources of prejudice and discrimination, disability language guidelines, the American's with Disabilities Act, universal design, adaptive equipment for recreation participation, and more. In addition, SADA will collect donations for several charities assisting individuals with disabilities.
