Penn State Altoona will hold its final event commemorating Disability Awareness Week on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 8 - 9:30 a.m. in the Creekside Room of the Port Sky Cafe. A discussion panel made up of Penn State Altoona faculty and staff will highlight disability-related concerns on campus.

The panel will discuss pertinent information for faculty and staff regarding accessibility, reasonable accommodations, classroom management issues, academic standards, disability services, and other disability related topics. In addition, faculty and staff members are encouraged to utilize this opportunity as an open forum to ask questions and address concerns relative to meeting the unique needs of students with disabilities.

Panel members include Joy Himmel, Cherrie Henry, Rick Wareham, Barbara Hong, Shelly Beaver, and Bill Ritzman. A light breakfast will be served.

The panel has been organized by the newly established student organization, Students Advocating for Disability Awareness (SADA).
