The 2013 Penn State Altoona Business Case Competition, sponsored by the McLanahan Corporation, was held November 7 - 9.

Through participation in the competition, students engage in a problem-solving exercise outside of the classroom that facilitates development of leadership skills, quantitative and qualitative skills, as well as presentation and communication skills. Students also benefit from networking opportunities with leaders of the business community. The team presentations of ten minutes at the Business Case Competition are followed by a question-and-answer session. The judging criteria was based on overall performance and quality of analysis, presentation, and the question-and-answer session.

Team Dynasty consisting of Michael Black, Steve Mullen, Jessica Chu, and Hunter Jones, secured a first place win. Each member received a $2500 scholarship.

The Managers, Benjamin Irvin, Nicholas Morabito, Travis Johnson, and Ethan Devore, took second place, each winning $1000.

Scholarships were made possible by the generous philanthropy of Thomas and Nicki Lucas, of Trabuco Canyon, California. The couple presented an unrestricted gift to fund the competition.
