Film Screening
Illuminations Films’ Working with Pinter will be shown on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at noon in the Paul R. and Margery Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

Burton's 2007 film is a unique documentary about a unique writer. Achieving unprecedented access to Harold Pinter working with actors, the film captures his collaborative spirit and offers a remarkable insight into his writing. Participating in a master-class in 2005, the playwright contributes to the rehearsal of extracts from his own plays offering a rare insight into his creative processes. Complementing this revealing footage is an interview with Harold Pinter speaking with his friend and theatrical ally Henry Woolf, as well as liberal quotations from film and television productions of his plays.

Following the film, Burton will work with students from the college’s Introduction to Directing class on specific challenges in directing.

Open Actor’s Rehearsal on Pinter
Burton will host an open rehearsal for Harold Pinter's The Dumb Waiter on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 6 p.m. in rooms 101-103 of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

Utilizing four Penn State Altoona students, Jorden Hietkamp, Jordan Shumaker, Alicia Oswald, and Devony DeMittia, Burton will unlock the secrets inside one of Pinter's sharpest comedies.

Meling Award Lecture
Burton will receive the Kjell Meling Award for Distinction in the Arts and Humanities on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. The award ceremony includes a lecture by Burton and will be followed by a dessert reception.
