Byers Recognized as AMCC Player of the Week in Men's Volleyball

After his first collegiate men's volleyball match on Sunday, Penn State Altoona men's volleyball's freshman outside hitter Jacob Byers (Level Green, PA/Penn Trafford) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week on Monday.

In Penn State Altoona's first match of the season on Sunday, Byers posted a strong performance against nationally-ranked AMCC opponent Medaille College. He tallied eight kills and led the team with three service aces, and he also finished the day with the best hitting percentage on the team, swinging at a .353 clip.

In the AMCC, Byers is currently ranked first in hitting percentage (.353) and first in service aces per set (0.75).

Penn State Altoona lost the match 3-1 to #15 Medaille.
