Lady Lions Finish as AMCC Runners-Up

Penn State Altoona women's bowling concluded its competition in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships on Sunday at Byllye Lanes by securing second place.
The standings were determined by teams' total pinfall after Saturday and Sunday. Host school Pitt-Bradford won the AMCC title with 6267 pins, while Penn State Altoona finished with 6167. Medaille College placed third with 5691, and Mount Aloysius College came in fourth with 4870.
Sunday's matches were in the best 4-of-7 baker format. The Lady Lions picked up two wins in three matches, defeating Mount Aloysius 610-441 and Medaille 950-854 and losing 762-653 to Pitt-Bradford.
Brea Suchonic (Butler, PA/Butler) led Penn State Altoona for the day by averaging 17.06 in 35 frames and finishing with a total pinfall of 597.
The weekend's matches constituted the first AMCC Championship in conference history, as the 2013-2014 season was the first year that the league sponsored women's bowling as a championship sport.
