Tuesday, March 25, 2014 - 552 hits
Penn State Altoona baseball's freshman outfielder Logan Madill (Midland, MI/Midland) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Madill continued to swing a hot bat for the Lions last week, helping his team go 2-1 -- including an upset of No. 18 Shenandoah University during the March 21 game.
Against Shenandoah, Madill went 2-for-4 with a double and home run. He drove in three runs, scored three himself, and walked once to help his team pull off an 11-10 road win over the Hornets.
In the first game of a doubleheader with Keuka College on Sunday, Madill hit a walkoff two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to propel his team to a 10-8 win in its home opener.
For the week, the freshman hit .364 (4-for-11) with two home runs and one double to go along with six runs scored and five RBI. He posted an on-base percentage of .462 and slugged 1.000.
Madill currently leads the AMCC in home runs (4) and is third in RBI (15).
