Penn State Altoona ROTC to hold Run for Wounded Heroes

ALTOONA – The Army ROTC Ranger Challenge Club of Penn State Altoona is hosting a 10K/5K race Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 10 a.m. The course begins and ends on campus and winds through streets and roads of Altoona.
The entrance fee is $20 with all proceeds benefiting the Pittsburgh branch of the Fisher House Foundation. The Fisher House provides military families with housing close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease, or injury received during combat operations.
Registration can be done online at www.parunners.com or on the day of the race. The first 150 registrants are guaranteed a t-shirt. Participants should arrive by 9 a.m. A children’s one-mile run will also take place following the 10K/5K. There will be awards for top finishers, and a check presentation to Fisher House representatives. Community members may make donations the day of the race.
