Penn State Altoona freshman Adam Hack (York, PA/York Catholic) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Newcomer of the Year in men's tennis, and a total of four Lions earned spots on the second team of the All-AMCC squad when it was released on Tuesday evening.

Hack put together a strong freshman campaign for the Lions, leading his team with a 6-4 overall record in singles matches. Against AMCC opponents only, Hack posted a 5-1 mark. He was third in the conference in total wins at the No. 2 position with four and also had two victories at No. 1 singles. In doubles matches, he tallied three wins.

In addition to winning Newcomer of the Year, Hack was also voted to the second team of the All-Conference squad at No. 2 singles.

Joining Hack among the second team singles honorees was fellow freshman Ben Settimio (McMurray, PA/Peters Township), who was picked as the second-best No. 6 player in the AMCC. Settimio posted a 5-4 overall record and went 4-2 against conference opponents. His three wins at No. 6 were tied for the second-most in the AMCC there.

Earning a second team nod at the No. 2 doubles slot was the freshman duo of Chris Reighard (Altoona, PA/Altoona) and Jorge Requena (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Carol Morgan School). The two became paired together midseason and went on to post a 4-1 record in the No. 2 flight, including a 3-0 clip in the AMCC.
