DANBURY, Conn. - Penn State Altoona freshman Emily Booz (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) has been selected the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Division III Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week.

Booz had an impressive showing in last week's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships at Penn State Behrend, having a hand in setting five new Penn State Altoona women's swimming team records.

Booz set new individual team records in the 200 Yard Backstroke, in which she placed first in the AMCC's 'A' cut final with a time of 2:11.94, and in the 200 Yard IM, in which she was third place in the 'A' final with a time of 2:19.37.

Booz was also part of the groups that set new team records in a trio of relay events: the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay (third place with a time of 1:45.62), the 400 Yard Medley Relay (third place with a time of 4:21.74), and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay (third place with a time of 3:53.92).

Additionally, Booz posted a pair of fourth place finishes in the AMCC finals for the 100 Yard Backstroke and the 200 Yard Medley Relay.

This is Booz's first career ECAC weekly award.
