Stewart Athletic Fields
The Stewart Athletic Fields are home to the Penn State Altoona baseball and softball teams. The baseball team has enjoyed playing at the campus since the late 1960s, though the facilities have been upgraded considerably since then. The most recent additions to the baseball field include a new scoreboard and press box that features a concession stand and restrooms. There is also a bullpen area, dugouts, a batting cage, and storage sheds. The baseball field is situated in the heart of campus and is surrounded by dormitories, the Port Sky Cafe, and Spring Run Stadium.
The softball field has enjoyed a home at Ivyside since 2002, and a new press box recently added to the facility. The softball field at Penn State Altoona is also situated in the middle of campus and directly borders the newly remodeled Port Sky Cafe, Adler Gym, and Ivyside Tennis Courts. In 1991, six tennis courts were added to the fields behind Adler Athletic Complex. The courts are home to the men's and women's tennis teams who compete in spring and fall, respectively. These facilities are also equipped with lights and are open to the public when not being used for campus activities.
Next to the tennis courts are two sand volleyball courts and a six hoop basketball court.
The facilities host a wide variety of club sports, popular intramural sports such as Co-Ed Softball, or often a group of students organize recreational usage with a group of fellow students. The annual Operation Safe Trick or Treat, sponsored by the Office of Student Life, also utilizes the Stewart Athletic Fields walking track.
