We had a very busy day today with four different business visits. My favorite visit of the day was the Irish Dairy Board. I never realized how much pride the Irish take in their dairy products. Irish dairy products are known for having higher quality dairy products because the cows are fed with the well taken care of grass here. I really liked that the Irish Dairy Board is very focused on sustainability. They focus on the concept of the quote "We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children." We also visited Siemens, ResMed, and the Belfield Innovation Park at the University College Dublin. It was really interesting going from ResMed to the Innovation Park because the man that we met with at RedMed actually began his business in the incubator there. He began a business selling a sleep monitoring device that can be used at home. His company was eventually acquired by the larger company, ResMed. His story was a great example of how places like Belfield Innovation Park can be a great resource and really help entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life.
