Today we finally arrived in Ireland. We were met at the airport by our driver, Mark, who drove us to Kilkenny. On the way, he gave us a brief history about the area and pointed out different landmarks like the Kilkenny castle. Our hotel ended up being right across the river from the castle, so it was only a five minute walk. We toured the castle and learned all about the history and the family that lived in it, the Butler's. After the tour, we walked around and explored the city a little more.

The city is very unique. The sidewalks and streets are all very narrow and you can find a lot of buildings and structures that are old and being restored. The city has a very authentic feel that shows you it has been around for centuries.
