Equity Concepts was formed in 1991 to help people become the best possible stewards of what has been entrusted to them by teaching them the truth about money. In response to company growth, additional financial consultants joined the company and in 2001 in Altoona, PA, Amy Seltzer and a partner established Equity Concepts North. Based on the success of that business Seltzer Financial Strategies was founded in 2004.

Amy works directly with Equity Concepts in Richmond, Virginia and together they have concentrated on using a unique approach to managing finances. Their investment philosophy is designed to help preserve and grow capital while minimizing portfolio volatility in a way that reduces overall exposures to the equity markets.

It’s more than just picking investments and retirement planning. At Seltzer Financial Strategies, wealth management is the integration and coordination of financial planning, risk management, asset management, tax planning and estate planning.

This comprehensive approach is designed to give a client a greater sense of control. It’s the lifelong supervision and management of this process that will ultimately define a client’s financial success.

Amy earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Penn State University. In 2006 she was awarded the Blair County Chamber of Commerce Young Emerging Business Award, and in 2008 was named one of the Top 50 Women in Business in Pennsylvania as well as one of the Top 100 People in Central Pennsylvania. In 2011, Amy was awarded the Penn State Altoona Distinguished Service Award. More recently she has been awarded the 2012 Top 100 People in Central Pa, the 2012 Top 100 Companies in Central PA, and the Blair County Chamber of Commerce Athena Award.
