ATHLETIC NEWSCross Country Teams Place 4th at AMCC ChampionshipsMonday, November 2, 2009ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's and men's cross country teams each placed fourth in the AMCC Championships at Penn State Behrend on Saturday. Alexandra Burkholder (Downingtown, PA/Downington East) led the women's team, placing eighth overall with a time of 27:04. The Lady Lions had five additonal runners place among the top 30. Kelley Rager (Reedsville, PA/Indian Valley) came in 20th with a time of 28:39, Kim Gueterman (Washington, NJ/Warren Hills Regional) was 24th at 29:13, Kirsten Luzik (Robinson Township, PA/Montour) placed 28th with 30:02, Becky Shodt (Center, PA/Center) was 29th at 30:43 and Rachel Lerch (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) was 30th with a time of 30:56. For the men, James Gourley (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) led the team by placing 11th overall with a time of 30:40. He was followed by Wesley Brubaker (Port Trevorton, PA/Selinsgrove), who came in 13th at 30:46. Jordan Rowley (Boulder, CO/Peak to Peak) finished 21st, clocking in at 32:15, Philip Shriver (Kensington, MD/Walter Johnson) came in 23rd at 32:35 and Peter Holman (Maple Glen, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) placed 26th at 32:51. The cross country team will travel to Lehigh Valley to participate in the NCAA Division III Mideast Championships on Saturday, November 14. MORE INFORMATION...
