Women's Bowling Wins Three at Kutztown Fall Invitational


KUTZTOWN, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's bowling team won three games and lost seven in the 2011 Kutztown University Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.

Shannel Ashby (Philadelphia, PA/Science Leadership Academy) ranked ninth individually among 79 bowlers who competed in the team matches on Saturday. Ashby had a total pinfall of 936 in five games, an average of 187.2 per game.

The Lady Lions claimed two victories in four games on Saturday, winning 791-720 over Coppin State University and 650-579 over Salem International University.

On Sunday, Penn State Altoona's lone win came when they edged Medaille College 578-557 in the Format 2 Baker System games.
