Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Each Place Third at AMCC Championships

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's cross country teams each came in third place out of 10 total teams at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships at Beaver Island State Park.


Franciscan University won first place in both the men's and women's races.


In the men's 8K, Chaz Ramos (Freeport, NY/Freeport) led the Lions by coming in 16th out of 84 male runners with a time of 30:27.


Michael Lock (Juniata, PA/Juniata) placed 23rd with a time of 31:19, and Will Aldridge (Coraopolis, PA/Moon Area) was 36th in 32:50.


In the women's 6K, Melissa Scandrol (South Park, PA/South Park) was the top runner for the Lady Lions, coming in 12th in a field of 87 competitors. She clocked in at 27:50.


Kristen Cummings (Pittsburgh, PA/Brentwood) finished 16th with a time of 28:06.
