Men's and Women's Swimming Lose at York College Meet


YORK, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming teams lost to York College and Gallaudet University on Friday evening at a meet hosted by York.

The men lost to York 113-69 and were also defeated 127-72 by Gallaudet.

The women were beaten 122-39 by York and also lost 122-66 to Gallaudet.

The Lions' Donavon Stadel (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) placed first in the Men's 1000 Yard Freestyle in 11:14.01.

Jay Wareham (Leesburg, VA/Loudon County) came in first in the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:09.80.

On the women's side, Allison Jacobs (York, PA/Central York) and Mary Elizabeth McCulloch (Wingate, PA/Bald Eagle) finished first and second, respectively, in the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke with times of 1:17.88 and 1:18.18.

Jacobs, McCulloch, Courtney Pinckney (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn College Academy), and Paige Strathmeyer (York, PA/West York) won the Women's 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, clocking in at 4:21.27.
