Men's and Women's Swimming Teams Lose at Behrend
ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona's men's and women's swimming teams traveled to face Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon. Altoona's men's squad lost 90-37, while the women fell 87-64.
For the men, Robert Sklodowski (Bialystok, Poland/Quince Orchard) and Christopher Sauder (Glenmoore, PA/Downingtown West) finished first and second, respectively, in the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle with times of 53.72 and 1:01.12.
Later, Jay Wareham (Leesburg, VA/Loudon County) won the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:09.06.
For the Lady Lions, Allison Jacobs (York, PA/Central York) came in first in the Women's 100 Yard IM with a time of 2:27.90. She later won the Women's 100 Yard Freestyle in 59.85.
Mary Elizabeth McCulloch (Wingate, PA/Bald Eagle) placed first in the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke, clocking in at 1:18.46.
In the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the team of Jacobs, Courtney Pinckney (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn College Academy), Michelle DeFelice (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley), and McCulloch came in first place with a time of 1:59.81.
