Men's and Women's Swim Teams Fall to Bearcats


LATROBE, Pa. - In a non-conference meet, the Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming teams were defeated by Saint Vincent College on Wednesday evening at the Resnik Pool.

The men's squad lost 92-52, while the women were bested 112-35.

For the men, Adam Pataky (Plum, PA/Plum) came in first place in the Men's 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:25.47.

Christopher Sauder (Glenmoore, PA/Downingtown West) won the Men's 500 Yard Freestyle in 6:07.14.

In the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke, Jay Wareham (Leesburg, VA/Loudon County) placed first with 1:08.65.

In the Women's 100 Yard Backstroke, Michelle DeFelice (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley) and Courtney Pinckney (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn College Academy) placed first and second with times of 1:24.63 and 1:26.81, respectively.

Mary Elizabeth McCulloch (Wingate, PA/Bald Eagle) topped the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:16.90.
