Swim Teams Swept by Hood and Juniata


HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming and diving teams were defeated by Juniata College and Hood College on Saturday afternoon. The men's team lost to Hood 123-49, and the women fell 79-14 to Juniata and 66-27 to Hood.

The Lions' lone first place finish on the day came in the Men's 200 Freestyle Relay, in which the squad of Jonathan Delli Santi (Kenilworth, NJ/Academy for Allied Health and Sciences), Zack Rickens (Enola, PA/East Pennsboro), Jay Wareham (Leesburg, VA/Loudon County), and Robert Sklodowski (Bialystok, Poland/Quince Orchard) won the event with a combined time of 1:50.05.

Allison Jacobs (York, PA/Central York) finished in second place in the Women's 50 Freestyle (30.56) and Women's 100 Freestyle (1:05.25). She also combined with Michelle DeFelice (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley), Courtney Pinckney (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn College Academy), and Mary Elizabeth McCulloch (Wingate, PA/Bald Eagle) to finish second in the Women's 200 Freestyle Relay.
