Cross Country Opens Season at Seton Hill Classic
9/2/2012 — GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2012 campaigns at the Seton Hill University Griffin Classic on Saturday.
The men's team placed fourth in the competition, and the women came in eighth place.
Jason Anna (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) was the top runner for the Lions, finishing 20th out of 56 male runners with a time of 30:55.13 in the 8K race.
Garrett Webster (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro) placed 23rd overall, clocking in at 31:26.45, and Jacob Dean (Shade Gap, PA/Southern Huntingdon) placed 27th with a time of 32:36.71.
For the Lady Lions, Missy Scandrol (South Park, PA/South Park) was her squad's leading runner. She finished in 39th place out of 85 female runners with a time of 23:25.11 in the 5K.
Patricia Mantero (San Juan, PR/Academia del Perpetuo Socorro) placed 50th in 24:39.72.
