Men's Golf Places Sixth in Season-Opening Invitational

9/4/2012 — BRADFORD, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's golf opened its season on Saturday at Pine Acres Country Club, placing sixth in the Pitt-Bradford Invitational.

The Lions shot 334 as a team. La Roche College won the event, shooting 310 collectively.

Tom Trexler (Bellwood, PA/Bellwood-Antis) was Penn State Altoona's top golfer, shooting an 82 on the par 72 course to finish tied for 17th place individually.

Wes Elder (Roaring Spring, PA/Martinsburg Central) and Austin Smith (Richeyville, PA/Bethlehem-Center) each shot an 83 for the Lions.
