Women’s Volleyball Splits at Misericordia Tri-Match
9/16/2012 — DALLAS, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women’s volleyball team recorded one loss and one win during Sunday’s tri-match hosted by Misericordia University at the Anderson Center.
The Lady Lions fell to Misericordia 3-0 to start the day, losing by scores of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-18. But they bounced back to win their second match of the day against Wells College 3-0, with the game scores being 25-13, 25-11, and 25-19.
Mariah McDowell (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) tallied a team-high 16 kills, 23 digs, and three total blocks in the two matches.
Marina Cotarelo (North Salem, NY/John F. Kennedy Catholic) led the squad with 33 set assists and added 15 digs.
Emily Frye (Etters, PA/Red Land) contributed 20 digs for Penn State Altoona.
