Lady Lions Edged by Frostburg in Three Sets

9/27/2012 — FROSTBURG, Md. - Despite playing three hard-fought sets, Penn State Altoona women's volleyball lost 3-0 to non-conference opponent Frostburg State University on Thursday night at the Bobcat Arena.

Frostburg won by scores of 29-27, 25-19, and 26-24.

Mariah McDowell (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) led the Lady Lions with 13 kills and two serving aces, and she also added 10 digs.

Becky Britton (Northern Cambria, PA/Northern Cambria) posted a team-high 13 digs.

Amanda Hammer (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) contributed 12 digs.

Marina Cotarelo (North Salem, NY/John F. Kennedy Catholic) had 17 set assists.
