Men's Soccer Snaps Skid With 2-1 Win Over D'Youville
9/29/2012 — BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Penn State Altoona men's soccer team broke its four-game losing streak on Saturday with an important 2-1 win over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent D'Youville College at the Riverside Athletic Complex.
D'Youville took a 1-0 lead at 16:09 on John Bull's goal.
But just over ten minutes later, the Lions answered with a goal of their own, as Karl Stephan (Milford, NJ/Delaware Valley Regional) tied the game at 1-1 with his score.
In the second half, the Lions battled to go ahead on the scoreboard, and Quinn Oyler (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) gave Penn State Altoona a 2-1 lead with his goal at 52:13. The goal was Oyler's second score in his past two games.
The Lions outshot D'Youville 9-5 in the second half and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks throughout the game.
Brandon Moss (Springfield, NJ/Jonathan Dayton) made two saves to record his third win of the season in goal for the Lions.
