Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Each Place Second in Mount Aloysius Invitational
EBENSBURG, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's cross country teams posted their best finishes of the season on Sunday, when each squad placed second in the Mount Aloysius College Invitational at Ebensburg Country Club.
The men's team came in second place out of seven teams, and the women's team placed second out of eight.
The Lions were led by Jacob Dean (Shade Gap, PA/Southern Huntingdon), who finished in sixth place out of 54 runners in the 8K race. Dean recorded a time of 29:23.2.
Jason Anna (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) and Garrett Webster (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro) came in 11th and 12th, respectively, with times of 29.44.2 and 30:04.3.
Michael Lock (Juniata County, PA/Juniata) came in 17th place in 31:27.1, and Stephen Kelly (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) placed 25th with a time of 33:01.3
For the Lady Lions, Patricia Mantero (San Juan, PR/Academio del Perpetuo Socorro) was the lead runner. She finished in sixth place out of 76 competitors in the 6K, clocking in at 26:05.6.
Missy Scandrol (South Park, PA/South Park) came in 12th with a time of 27:07.7, and Macy Yingling (Bedford, PA/Bedford) followed in 16th at 27:44.1.
Anna Griffith (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) placed 22nd in 28:14.5, and Kristen Cummings (Pittsburgh, PA/Brentwood) was 30th place with a time of 28:52.1.
