Pitt-Greensburg Tops Lady Lions 3-1
10/3/2012 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's soccer lost 3-1 to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday afternoon at Spring Run Stadium.
All four of the game's goals were scored during the second half.
Elizabeth Kelly put the Lady Bobcats on the scoreboard at 56:43 when her shot from just outside the box deflected off of the goalkeeper and into the net.
Pitt-Greensburg added goals from Tiffani Downey and Courtney Carroll at 60:28 and 69:07 to increase their lead to 3-0.
Penn State Altoona cut into the visitors' lead at 71:34 when Arianna Lantz (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) headed a pass from Anne Valiando (Wallkill, NY/Wallkill) past the goalkeeper, making it 3-1.
But Pitt-Greensburg did not yield any more goals, walking away with the win.
Katy Cook (Hollsopple, PA/Bishop McCort) made five saves in goal for Penn State Altoona.
