Women's Tennis Loses 7-2 to Geneva in Home Finale

10/5/2012 — ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's tennis team lost 7-2 to non-conference opponent Geneva College on Friday in the Lady Lions' final home date of the 2012 season at the Adler Tennis Courts.

The Lady Lions won one of three in doubles, as the tandem of Leah Stoehr (Altoona, PA/Altoona)/Taylor Pompili (Renovo, PA/Bucktail) played to an 8-6 victory.

Penn State Altoona was able to earn only one win in singles, courtesy of Kayla Shriver (Martinsburg, PA/Martinsburg Central) in #6 Singles. Shriver battled to a 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 win over her opponent.

The Lady Lions close out their 2012 schedule this Sunday, October 7 when they travel to play Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent La Roche College at 12:00 PM.
