Bradford Edges Lady Lions 2-1
10/6/2012 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Pitt-Bradford narrowly defeated the Penn State Altoona women's soccer team 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Spring Run Stadium.
All of the game's goals were scored in the first half.
Pitt-Bradford's Tess Follman scored both of the Lady Panthers' goals. At 27:20, she took a pass from the right side of the goal box to score. Four minutes later, Follman took a lead pass to score on a breakway to make it 2-0.
But Penn State Altoona responded four minutes after that when Ingrid Ritchie (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) chipped a pass beyond a Pitt-Bradford defender and set up a Theresa Deppenscmidt (New Hope, PA/New Hope-Solebury) goal, cutting the visitors' lead to 2-1.
But, despite the Lady Lions creating several scoring opportunities throughout the remainder of the game, the score remained the same by the 90 minute mark.
Penn State Altoona goalkeeper Mackenzie Strubhar (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) made six saves in the loss.
