Women's Bowling Opens Season With Wins Over Salem International

10/13/2012 — ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's bowling team opened its 2012 season on Saturday with a pair of wins over Salem International University at Pleasant Valley Bowl.

The Lady Lions won the team event by a score of 2357-2126, then defeated Salem International 674-516 in the baker match.

Brittany Ayers (Altoona, PA/Altoona) averaged a 188, and teammate Shannel Ashby (Philadelphia, PA/Science Leadership Academy) averaged a 167.

Penn State Altoona hits the road for a rematch with Salem International tomorrow in Salem, West Virginia at 11:30 AM.
