Women's Volleyball Tops Chatham 3-1 for Fourth Straight Win
10/15/2012 — PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's volleyball team won its fourth match in a row on Monday night when it defeated non-conference opponent Chatham University 3-1.
The Lady Lions won the first set 25-18, then battled to take the second set 28-26. Chatham rallied for a 26-24 win in the third set, but Penn State Altoona closed things out with a 25-11 victory in the fourth.
Amanda Hammer (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) led the Lady Lions with 15 kills.
Mariah McDowell (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) added 11 kills and 10 digs to go along with three service aces.
Emily Frye (Etters, PA/Red Land) posted a team-best 15 digs, and Marina Cotarelo (North Salem, NY/North Salem) led the team with 36 set assists.
