Lady Lions to Host Pink Event This Saturday
10/24/2012 — ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's volleyball team will host its annual Dig Pink event this Saturday, October 27 when they host Pitt-Bradford and York College. The team will play at 1:00 PM against Pitt-Bradford, then face York at 5:00 PM in the Adler Gym.
All fans are asked to wear pink in support. Their Breast Cancer Awareness Month efforts will consist of fundraising for the fight against breast cancer. Admission will be $1 for students and $3 for all other fans, with all proceeds benefitting the cause.
Those in attendance can check out raffle items including Pink, Penn State, and Midnight Snack raffle baskets. Tickets for the auction will be $1 each, $5 for seven tickets, or an arm's length of tickets for $10. A 50/50 raffle will be held in conjunction with the Penn State Altoona Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
T-shirts, mini-volleyballs, honor memorial cards, and hats will also be sold in support of the cause. Profits will be directed to the Altoona Regional Foundation for Life and Hershey Medical Center.
Thanks to area partners, the first 50 fans through the doors wearing pink will receive gift cards for free McDonald items. All fans are invited to register to win a gift certificate for four general admission tickets to an Altoona Curve 2013 game, donated by the Altoona Curve.
