Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Each Place Third at AMCC Championship
EBENSBURG, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's and women's cross country teams each came in third place in Saturday's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship at Ebensburg Country Club.
The men's team tallied a score of 78 in the 8K race, while the women finished with a score of 105 in the 6K.
The men's score of 78 is the lowest team score in Penn State Altoona men's cross country program history.
Jacob Dean (Shade Gap, PA/Southern Huntingdon) came in eighth place out of 86 runners, finishing with a time of 29:15.1.
Jason Anna (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) followed closely behind, coming in 10th with a time of 29:19.9.
In 20th place was Garrett Webster (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro), who clocked in at 30:22.7.
Ryan Gallagher (Altoona, PA/Altoona) finished shortly thereafter, crossing the finish line at 30:35.8 for 22nd place.
Patricia Mantero (San Juan, PR/Academia del Perpetuo Socorro) led the women's team, placing 11th with a time of 25:55.4.
Missy Scandrol (South Park, PA/South Park) secured 19th place with a time of 27:07.8.
Macy Yingling (Bedford, PA/Bedford) finished 26th place in 27:47.9.
