Women's Basketball Falls to Allegheny in Season Opener

11/16/2012 — MEADVILLE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's basketball was defeated 88-43 by Allegheny College on Friday night in the Greg Richards '08 Memorial Tip-Off Tournament at the David V. Wise Center.

The Lady Lions started slow, trailing 47-9 at halftime, before bouncing back to score 34 second half points.

Allison Edwards (Williamsburg, PA/Williamsburg) led Penn State Altoona with 11 points and added eight rebounds.

Alidia Strouse (State College, PA/State College) grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and scored seven points.

Penn State Altoona will play the consolation game tomorrow at 1:00 PM against Waynesburg University.
