Men's Swimming Tops Frostburg 121-63, Women's Team Edged 97-94
11/17/2012 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's swimming picked up its first win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Frostburg State University 121-63 in the Adler Natatorium. The women's squad lost narrowly to Frostburg by a score of 97-94.
In the Men's 200 Yard Medley Relay, Jonathan Delli Santi (Kenilworth, NJ/Academy for Allied Health Sciences), Jay Wareham (Leesburg, VA/Loudon County), Keenan Halpin (Bensalem, PA/George School), and Robert Sklodowski (Bialystok, Poland/Quince Orchard) won with a time of 1:48.69.
Sklodowski later won the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:57.36, as well as the Men's 500 Yard Freestyle with a 5:23.74.
Kyle Huber (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) finished first in the Men's 50 Yard Freestyle, ending with a time of 22.99. He also won the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle, earning a time of 52.47.
Benjamin Porter (West Chester, PA/Unionville) placed first in the Men's 200 Yard IM, clocking in at 2:11.86.
In the Men's 100 Yard Backstroke, Delli Santi came in first in 59.75.
The team of Maria Thompson (Altoona, PA/Altoona), Mary Elizabeth McCulloch (Wingate, PA/Bald Eagle), Jennifer Farley (Langhorne, PA/Notre Dame), and Rebecca Fair (Cleona, PA/Annville-Cleona) won the Women's 200 Yard Medley Relay, finishing in 2:05.91.
McCulloch went on to win the Women's 50 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 26.98, then added another first place with a victory in the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke, clocking in with a time of 1:14.24.
Thompson picked up two more first places when she topped the Women's 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:33.94, then won the Women's 100 Yard Backstroke in 1:05.12.
