11/26/2012 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Carnegie Mellon University's execution on the floor proved to be too much for Penn State Altoona women's basketball on Monday night, as the Tartans defeated the Lady Lions 88-27 in the Adler Gym.
The visitors shot 54.7% from the field and forced 32 Penn State Altoona turnovers. They also held a 45-23 advantage in rebounds.
Alidia Strouse (State College, PA/State College) had seven points and five rebounds for the Lady Lions. Teammate Kylie O'Toole (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Trafford) added seven points.
Carnegie Mellon opened the game with a 20-0 lead, holding Penn State Altoona scoreless until Strouse's layup at the 9:15 mark.
But the Tartans held a 45-14 halftime lead, then continued to widen the gap in the second half.
