Lions' Shooting Struggles in 89-53 Loss at Frostburg
12/22/2012 — FROSTBURG, Md. - Penn State Altoona men's basketball was held to a 31% team field goal percentage in an 89-53 defeat at the hands of former Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Frostburg State University on Saturday afternoon.
Frostburg's Christian Jackson and DeSean Antoine combined for 53 points in their team's victory.
Penn State Altoona was led in scoring by Jordan Wells (Columbia, MD/Atholton), who put up a personal season-high 17 points and tied for the team lead with six rebounds.
Mitch Moyer (Port Matilda, PA/Bald Eagle) added eight points for the Lions.
The Bobcats jumped out to an early lead, en route to a 44-16 halftime advantage. Frostburg limited Penn State Altoona to a 24% field goal percentage in the first half.
Frostburg continued to click offensively in the second half, shooting 59.1% from the field.
Penn State Altoona heads into their winter break with a 4-5 overal record. The team returns to action on January 5 for a home AMCC matchup against Medaille College at 3:00 PM.
