Seven Softball Players Named All-America Scholar-Athletes by NFCA
1/11/2013 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Seven Penn State Altoona softball players were recognized for strong academic performances during the 2011-2012 year when they received All-America Scholar-Athlete awards from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Friday.
To be eligible to win the awards, student-athletes were required to be varsity softball players who carried a minimum 3.5 grade point average throughout the year.
The Lady Lions who were named 2011-2012 NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes are:
-Megan Andrews (Massapequa, NY/Plainedge)
-Kelly Chambers (Snow Shoe, PA/Bald Eagle)
-Casey Drick (Elimsport, PA/Montgomery)
-Brooke Morningstar (Lewistown, PA/Lewistown)
-Brittany Smith (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte)
-Christina Stathes (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte)
-Allison Stugart (South Williamsport, PA/South Williamsport)
