Harvin Named AMCC Player of the Week

2/11/2013 — PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Penn State Altoona senior guard Durant Harvin (Baltimore, MD/Franklin) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week in men's basketball on Monday afternoon.

Harvin was instrumental to the Lions' success last week, helping his team win a pair of important conference games in the midst of a heated playoff race.

On Wednesday, Penn State Altoona defeated nearby rival Mount Aloysius College 72-69. On Saturday, they beat D'Youville College 74-58. The victories keep the Lions in the running for the sixth and final seed in the AMCC Tournament.

Harvin averaged 17.5 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 60% from the field and 66% from three-point range. He also came up big at the free throw line, shooting 87.5%.

Harvin is currently ranked fifth in the AMCC in assists (3.3 assists per game) and assist/turnover ratio (1.1). He leads the conference in minutes per game, averaging 38.4 minutes on the court per contest.

This is the first AMCC Player of the Week honor that Harvin has earned in his two-year career with Penn State Altoona men's basketball.
