Women's Basketball Ends Season With 78-42 Loss at Behrend
2/16/2013 — ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's basketball lost 78-42 to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon at the Junker Center.
It was the final game of the 2012-2013 season for the Lady Lions, who finish with a 3-22 overall record and a 3-15 mark in the AMCC.
Kylie O'Toole (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Trafford) led Penn State Altoona with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Moira Corrigan (Havertown, PA/Haverford) added 11 points and six boards.
Tamara Thomas (Altoona, PA/Altoona) scored five points, but she came eight points shy of becoming the fourth 1,000 point scorer in program history.
Behrend opened the game on an 11-0 run before O'Toole finally put the Lady Lions on the scoreboard at the 14:48 mark with a layup.
But the home team led by as many as 20 points in the first half and held a 32-15 advantage by halftime.
Behrend continued to up its lead in the second half and controlled the game.
Penn State Altoona was hurt by 28 turnovers, which directly led to 30 points for Behrend. The Lady Lions were also limited by a 28.3% field goal percentage.
